Message from Boot Out Breast Cancer
Since our first event in November 2010 we have raised over £1,395,000 and funds have been spent on products and equipment in NHS Hospitals.
We have provided equipment for The Royal Bolton NHS hospital, The Nightingale Centre NHS hospital in South Manchester, Thomas Linacre Breast Centre at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Hospital and the Paterson Institute next to The Christie.
In 2020, we gave a £178,000 pledge to The Christie to deliver the Boot Out Breast Cancer Outreach programme which was to improve access to clinical trials for people with secondary breast cancer.
The level of funding for the latest state-of-the-art equipment is almost non existent in the NHS at the present time, as confirmed by the UK Statistics Authority only recently, and we feel that we are plugging that gap.
The equipment we have purchased is saving theatre time and anaesthetic, and we believe giving that early diagnosis is the key to ultimately saving lives.
